I leave a little blood on the page and work really hard on my lyrics, chord changes and everything, structures. So it's pretty heartening to get that nod." (more)

  •  RONNIE WOOD ASKED TO APPEAR AT OLYMPICS TWICE

  • Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed that the Stones and the Faces have been asked to perform at the Olympics. In an interview published in today's edition of The Sun, Wood told the British newspaper, "We've got more meetings, everyone wants to do it. I've been asked to do the opening ceremony with the Stones and close the games with The Faces. I've got to be the first bi-athlete musician."

It seems questionable as to whether or not the shows will actually happen though.  Only last week a Rolling Stones spokesman stated, "Contrary to a totally inaccurate report in the London Evening Standard today, The Rolling Stones wish to point out that they are not performing at any concerts tied to the 2012 Olympic Games in Hyde Park or The Olympic Park."  Maybe the band has changed their mind or maybe it's just wishful thinking on Wood's part...time will tell

  • Slash has announced the first dates for his upcoming US tour in support of his as-yet-untitled solo album. Set for release on May 22, Slash's sophomore solo release will feature singer Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The tour kicks off on May 3 and it should be noted that this would not conflict with the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 14. Though Slash has stated that he has neither RSVP'd the event nor committed to a Guns N' Roses reunion, fans can still hope he'll change his mind.

Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale this Friday (Feb. 17), with a special fan pre-sale starting on Wednesday (Feb. 15) - click here for a list of Tour dates.
